Key. Park up on the drive and go through the gate at the back of the drive into the back yard. In the key safe by the French windows is a key to the left hand French window door.

Water. Turn the water on. The stopcock is under the kitchen sink. To turn it on it goes anti-clockwise / lefty Lucy. Once on, run the cold water in the kitchen sink for a few minutes. The tap in the downstairs cloakroom can splutter a bit to start with as the new water comes through.

Electrics. Turn on (all switches up) all the fuses in the fuse box in the cloakroom above the downstairs loo. 

 

​Fridge. Plug in the fridge. The socket is inside the kitchen cupboard beside the fridge / freezer. Swap the drawers at the bottom of the fridge, so it closes properly.

 

Freezer. Plug-in if you want/think you’ll use it.

 

Microwave. In cupboard above boiler. Plug-in if you want to use it.

 

Hot water and heating. See separate instructions.

 

Keys: There’s a key for the french doors and front door in the glasses cupboard in the kitchen (above the washing machine). Use these while you are at the cottage and replace the one in the key safe as soon as you can (just in case it’s needed in an emergency!).

 

TV and Wi-Fi: These just need to be plugged in behind the telly. The Wi-Fi code is on a sticker on the back of the box.
